Reviews
The museum has a great collecting of still flying (!) Messerschmitt airplanes. It's free of charge but one has to register in advance as it's inside a working Airbus Defense and Space factory. Also, only citizens of ~NATO countries are allowed. The tour was in German but a guide was speaking English as well. The tours are happening something like once a month.
I was working at AIRBUS so got the opportunity to visit.
Very interesting aeroplane museum.
Only open on a Wednesday.
Achtung! Messerschmitt!
Small but fun museum lovingly tended by knowledgeable curators/engineers. (Working) replicas of more famous pieces are on display but attention should be given to earlier pieces. There is a real attempt to tell the historical story and the wider developments in flight through Herr Messerschmitt's career. The workshop ambience really shows you that this is a living restoration/history (note the stripped down engine blocks), not a stuffy static display.
What an amazing place and Airbus are to be congratulated on preserving their rich history in aviation. Wonderful collection a privilege to have been able to visit.
Incredible place! All aircrafts in this museum have authorization to fly, have flown and will fly again ! What a beautiful heritage !
It's not allowed people to visit here. It's a kind of secret place.
A rare selection of aircraft and associated history.
One of the best place to spent time! A lot of time...
